Grind Conference Recap
Dear Faithful Ministry Partner,
This past week I was able to take four interns to The Grind Conference in South Haven, Michigan. The Grind Conference is for leaders in the skate-ministry world to meet together to network, encourage, train, and equip one another to continue to pour into the skate community. Kyle Brush, organizer of Grind Conference, leads a skate ministry called Truth Skate Church and truly believes that we are better together as ministers of the gospel to the skateboarding community. At the conference, I met a lot of amazing people who love the Lord well and are obedient in being bold in their faith at the skateparks. I have to say, skate ministry is alive and well!
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
– Hebrews 10:24-25
Hebrews 10:24-25 is exactly why I went to the Grind conference. As leaders in skate ministry, we must spur one another on and encourage each other because we are all on the same team with the same mission. Our mission is the great commission and our mission field is the skate culture. Lyle Wall, one of the speakers at the conference, used the skate analogy of saying “I got your back,” or “I’ll back you up.” When you are struggling to land a trick at the park, your friend might say, “You land it, and I’ll back you up!” This is exactly what we need to do as leaders in skate ministry. We must support one another as leaders; we cannot lose leaders in skate ministry because of lack of support and encouragement. I pray that we stir up one another to love and do good works for the sake of the gospel, and that lives will be changed in the skate industry in the states and to the ends of the earth.
To the ENDS,
