Nicaragua Headquarters: Complete!
Last week our team of 16 trekked 23 surfboards, 6 skimboards, 20+ skateboards, 15 checked bags, and over a dozen carry-ons full of supplies, shoes, hats, and clothes from Fort Myers to our new Latin American headquarters in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. There were a handful of purposes for this trip, but the main goal was to finish out the new base. From framing and hanging pictures, to painting, installing new outdoor lights, to building board racks, our team went to work as soon as we arrived at the new facility.
Since this trip was just our Ride Nature staff and interns, we spent a lot of time with intentional team bonding, training, and Bible studies. As we were able to bless the staff in Nicaragua with supplies and labor, they blessed us in return by hosting us and pouring into our team while we were there.
Within a week, a team of 16 turned into a family of 25, borders no longer separating the Ride Nature family. We grew in relationship with each other, and more importantly with God, as we lived out what it means to be the body of Christ. After days packed full of work projects, we were able to hit up some skateparks and host two different outreach events. After a year working with Ride Nature, it was incredible to finally see the organization’s international ministry in action now that COVID shut downs are fading away!
When it was time to pack up, you could tell everyone was full, in the best ways possible, and as much as we didn’t want to leave, we were ready and rejuvenated to head back home to Florida. Now that the base is finished, we’re blessed to have two beautiful places to call home, and two teams to call family.
