Jacó, Costa Rica

I was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL and to be honest, I’ve never traveled outside of that. Signing up for this mission trip to Costa Rica was a big step of faith for me. Since day one I told my friend Malysa, "It's an honor to even be thought of to be invited along.” I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the Shred Sisters who gave me the opportunity to go with them but beyond grateful for what the Lord was doing. I prayed that He would teach me what he wanted to during my time there and that I would allow Him to work in that way.

He took captive of my thoughts and made me realize that my thoughts had become my idols. I had given them my identity and too much power over my life. I was believing in these lies of myself that it was normal for me to give into them. Our daily teachings and readings encouraged me to keep studying the word of God but truly how to use it as my daily weapon when I hear those lies.

Serving at Oceans Edge encouraged and inspired me in my purpose and what I want to do for the Kingdom of God. I was reminded of how sweet our Father is and that He cares for us, in the littlest of ways. He used my passions for painting and the skate community to bring Light into Jaco, Costa Rica!
