PURPOSE
The purpose of this trip is to build authentic community and share the Gospel in Playa Negra, Costa Rica. We’ll be spending the week alongside our friend Mike, his vibrant family, and the Seed Skate team. Mike has planted deep roots in Playa Negra—owning and operating the Playa Negra Surf Lodge and the town’s best café—and has become a father figure to many of the local kids through his passion for surfing, skating, and creativity.
Playa Negra has become a spiritual crossroads, where people practice a wide range of beliefs. Many are actively searching for God, yet some carry deep hurt from past experiences with the church. Our heart is to meet them right where they are—with the true, raw, and redemptive love of Christ. We want to embrace those who are questioning, wounded, or wandering and invite them into genuine relationship, pointing them toward local churches, spiritual community, and people who will walk with them long after we leave.
Throughout the week, we’ll be hosting beach bonfires, worship nights, shared meals with strangers, and skate outreach—all centered around intentional relationship-building. Be prepared for long, honest conversations, intentional surf sessions, and meaningful time with Mike and his family as we seek to encourage and strengthen them in their ministry and help it gain even more traction in the community.
